Lydia Lake
.: LYDIA LAKE :.
LL is a multidisciplinary Appalachian artist, collector, and curator.
Her current works reject an overarching categorization of medium and rather can be defined as being made by the artist’s hand.
Recent focuses include large scale fibers installation, wooden and plaster sculpture, assemblage, and zine making. Output of these explorations are united by a deep appreciation for story with layers of meaning woven in for those who are inclined to follow the thread.
Lydia holds a BFA in Photography from Marshall University and has been selected for exhibition by galleries in Chicago, Ohio, North Carolina, and West Virginia. She is the curator of Nomad Museum, the tiniest museum in Asheville. You can visit the museum and see more of her work at Riverside Studios in River Arts District, Asheville, N.C.
